Looking Back on 2019

As another year comes to an end, its important for us to take this time to express our thanks to those that have helped make 2019 great for the Greenstone Slate Company. So, we thank you for your support.

Photos of completed projects using Greenstone natural Vermont slate on roofs and wall applications keep rolling in. Having the opportunity to view our slate on homes, churches, commercial buildings, universities and more, reinforces our commitment to providing the highest quality natural S1 slate. For those of you involved in such projects, keep sending us your photos so we can continue to highlight them on our website!

Looking Forward to 2020

We continue to have great response to HailFire™ as a brand that tells the story of just how rugged a Greenstone Slate® roof will be—one that protects against weather and climate conditions better than any other roof!

The SlateTec™ reduced-weight slate roof installation method continues to grab attention and acceptance with architects and the roofing industry for its ability to reduce the weight of a genuine slate roof by 40% or under 6lbs per square foot. A Greenstone genuine slate roof with SlateTec installation is a great option for nearly any new or renovation roofing project including cedar shake replacements.

We’ll be highlighting our Vermont S1 slate and the SlateTec installation method at the following trade shows in 2020:

NAHB / International Builders’ Show
Booth SU 3035
JAN 21-23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC)
Las Vegas, NV

NRCA / International Roofing Expo
Booth 422
FEB 4-6 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center
Dallas, TX

JLC LIVE 2020
Booth U205
MAR 18-21 at the Rhode Island Convention Center
Providence, RI

As an alternative to SlateTec, Nu-lok slate installation system also reduces roof weight by attaching the slates on a specially-designed grid that offers ventilation between the slates and the roof deck, has super-easy serviceability and SolarRoof™ option of integrating solar panels flush with slates (actually in place of slates) for a completely unobtrusive solar panel installation. A roof weight of under 6 lbs per square foot is also achievable with Nu-lok. The Nu-lok system applied for cladding also brings unprecedented opportunities for building access with easy individual slate tile removal for maintenance, service, or building alterations.

Best wishes to you and yours for a happy and healthy holiday season and a prosperous 2020!
